Corinne Lemkes likes to think in terms of workable solutions. She sees it as a challenge to let people who come in in conflict leave in harmony, with good agreements with which they can continue their lives together. With care and attention, she monitors both the balance and the progress of the process. This empathic, decisive and enterprising approach is highly appreciated by her clients.
Education and Career
After completing her law studies in Leiden, Corinne began her career in 1998 as a lawyer with De Clercq. After 14 years of specialized employment law practice, she hung up her robe and successfully started her own business mediation practice. In the period that followed, she developed further as a mediator, trainer and coach. Corinne combined her own practice with providing training in her field for leading organizations, including the Center for Conflict Management and ICM Education and Training. However, her flapping gown continued to beckon and in early 2021 Corinne returned to the legal profession and to De Clercq.
The daily practice of Corinne
“My passion for the legal profession and for the dynamics of employment law has always remained. After all, I enjoy advising clients on their legal position and on how to handle certain matters. What matters to me most is what is possible and – at least as important – how you communicate that. Because words matter and I like to contribute to that. That’s what I do as a mediator and later also as a lawyer. Because I am so enthusiastic about my work, I also like to give training courses about it. This combination of practicing my profession myself and helping others with it makes my work varied and very inspiring.”
