Tim de Vries is a broadly educated corporate lawyer. His sharp mind and feel for internal politics help him to analyse your case from every angle and bring it to a successful conclusion.
Education and career
Tim graduated from Leiden University in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Public Administration (Crisis and Safety Management), went on to complete a fast-track Bachelor’s programme in Law (in two instead of the normal three years), and followed this up with a Master’s degree in Company Law (Financial Law) in 2012. He also completed work placements at several law firms in Rotterdam. The reward for putting so much effort into his studies – in addition to the degrees – was a seven-month solo trip around the world that included Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
Tim’s daily practice
‘I have chosen to specialise in various facets of business law, including liability issues and disputes. My expertise lies mainly in the area of contractual disputes between shareholders, between businesses, as well as matters concerning directors’ and officers’ liability. I also advise and assist companies in mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring.’
Tim served on the board of the Young Bar Association at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands (2017-2018).
