Education and career
Joost graduated from Leiden University where he obtained his Master’s degree in Civil Law with merit in 2014. During his studies, he developed a keen interest in labour law and already had various publications on labour law-related topics to his name as a student. Joost was admitted to The Hague Bar Association at the end of 2014 and then took up employment at De Clercq. Prior to this, he did work placements at several civil-law notary firms, law firms and legal consultancy firms, while also volunteering at The Hague Legal Advice Centre.
Joost’s daily practice
‘Within the Employment, Employee Participation & Pensions practice group, I focus mainly on flexible employment – including agreements for services and temporary employment agency and payroll structures – and directors under articles of association. As a lawyer, I really enjoy advising, litigating and publishing regularly in these interesting subareas of labour law.’
